Although I don’t really like spending much time in downtown L.A., I have enjoyed the recently created theater group that one of our active Delta Gamma officers has been coordinating. We have seen quite a few plays and musicals during the past year or so, and it’s lots of fun to spend time with amazing women and see some very good shows. And eat some very good food. We alternate between Pantages, Ahmanson, and occasionally Segerstrom in Orange County and every outing has been a delight. Southern California has no shortage of sensational talent.
Last weekend we saw “Funny Girl” at the Ahmanson and it was great! The actress who played Fanny Bryce had an incredible voice, and the rest of the cast was stellar. I had never seen the original movie, although for some reason I learned to sing “People who need People” back in the 70’s -maybe for my Junior High graduation? I found the movie on Prime and it’s now in my queue.

We wandered to Vespaio Restaurant, a few blocks down Grand Avenue for a delightful post-musical dinner. The best part – it was my birthday and I got to celebrate my day with six wonderful women, delicious food and Broadway quality entertainment. Can’t get much better than that.

Sooo happy to celebrate YOU on your actual birthday! What a treat! xoxo
