Out and About

Okay, raise your hand if you have lived in the same area for a long time and never explored many of the local venues that have been right next door. I am guilty of that too. Funny how we don’t spend much time wandering around our neighborhoods but eagerly travel to other cities or countries.

I am intentionally being a local tourist and look forward to sharing my adventures with you.

If you have a favorite must-see, please let me know.

Chinese Lantern Festival – Raleigh, NC

Do you ever have that experience when you are unexpectedly delighted and amazed?  Perhaps you had that flawless and fast run down a steep, perfectly powdered ski run?  Maybe you saw that stunning multicolored sunset over a calm ocean or stumbled across a hidden lake after a long walk in a thick forest?  Perhaps a…

(Mis)adventures with Kathy

I love to travel!  I think I rank travel as one of my top 4 or 5 things to do.  Travel, reading, sailing, riding, jigsaw puzzling while binge watching Netflix…all is good. (Okay, dating is up there too but I am not terribly delighted with the options on dating sites, which has been a topic…

Butterflies at the Botanical Garden

The South Coast Botanic Garden in Palos Verdes, California, offers a serene escape with diverse landscapes, rose gardens, and a captivating butterfly exhibit called “SOAR.” Visitors can indulge in nature, take scenic photographs, and participate in community events. It’s an inspiring haven for gardeners and nature enthusiasts alike. A must-visit in the South Bay.

Rose Parade

One of my favorite holiday traditions is watching the Rose Parade. The Parade officially starts when the Stealth Bomber blasts along the parade route. That is a catch-your breath moment.
