I love horses. My love started back in 1971 when a photographer with a pony showed up on my parents' front porch and I got a picture with the pony. I was hooked. I think I had a dozen of those Breyer horse statues. Remember them? Here's one I had - Black Beauty.

I realized a few months ago that I have lived in Los Angeles my entire 61 years and never made it to the L.A. County Fair. Granted, I grew up and still live in the beach cities, and the Fair was oh so far away in Pomona, but you’d think I would have gone there at some point, whether on a field trip or family outing.
