When I decided to start my blog, it was initially going to be a place for me to rant and rave and share about my heartache as my marriage crumbled. I thought perhaps other women could get value from my posts and maybe my little random nuggets of insights could help others. I went through a lot of soul searching and struggles and figured I was not alone in my journey.

Brookgreen Gardens – Myrtle Beach, SC
Hey, fellow travelers! I mentioned in an earlier post that I was heading to the Southern States for a few weeks in October. As you know, my plans changed because of Hurricane Helene, so my three-week ramble was shortened to two weeks from Raleigh through the SC Coast down to Savannah.
Old Glory
I love the American flag. When I’m at an event where the National Anthem is sung, I stand up, hand over my heart, and do my best to belt out the high notes. I used to be able to hit the high notes. Not so much anymore, but Old Glory has a special place in my heart.
When travel plans are sabotaged…
One of my passions is travel. If I ever win the lottery, I won’t spend it on fast cars or mansions or designer clothes (well, maybe one outfit and a slightly bigger house and a car that is newer than my 17-year-old SUV) – just first class tickets on airplanes and a full itinerary without running up a credit card balance.
MindTravel

Roaming through Gold Country
Raise your hand if you spent time watching the late great Huell Howser exploring California on PBS – his many shows, including “California’s Gold,” “Road Trips,” and “Visiting with Huell Howser” introduced us to all corners of the state. From our comfy couches
Musings about Democracy

Art – bringing joy in my life

I feel like I am a curator for a mini art gallery and it’s fun to rotate paintings around my little home. My sister-in-law LeNore is so talented, and my living room showcases… Continue reading Art – bringing joy in my life
Pearl Harbor
Oahu – known as the “Gathering Place.” I have passed through briefly a few times, changing planes from Los Angeles to one of the other islands. I had never selected Oahu as a destination. It seemed too touristy, and as someone who lives in a beach side community in touristy Los Angeles, Oahu wasn’t high… Continue reading Pearl Harbor
Netanyahu’s Speech
Yes, I am back on my very tall soapbox - I don't get on it often because I am a klutz (trying to get rid of that designation and want my middle name to be "grace" instead of "klutz" but I had to vent). I sent this letter below to the editor of my local paper. I hope it gets published.
